p.e.a.r.l. is launching the fifteenth installment of his falling ethics series with two versions of a serious club destroyer that has been released on the label back in the early days of falling ethics. sorrows has been reflipped to a 2018 version that is sounding modern, large and in sync with the current aesthetics in techno music. while this version can be located on the b-side, on the a-side we find a larger than life cub version (karl o conner & simon shreeve) that will definitely turn some heads over the next few months. reworking classics is not always needed but in this case, it’s a welcome addition completely in harmony with the times.

the third and final instalment in frits two bar house music & chord stuff sees him continue to showcase his distinct style of lo-fi, wonky house - both quirky & unconventional, yet instantly endearing in the same breath. served up first in frits melting pot, theme 09 kicks things off with a shuffling, ukg esque rhythm and rnb flexed vocal snippets, alongside floaty arps and that chord stuff that swells and stabs in the mix. throw in a weighty bass and frits trademark analogue wonkiness and you ve got a prime example of a wentink wobbler. next up, theme 10 hits you with an organ melody reminiscent of a warped crystal waters, before twisting and turning into an edgy off-kilter house track. a glitchy synth line, bouncing bass and dreamy pads will hook you till the end. flip it and theme 11 offers up a chuggier affair where glistening arps are interspersed with squelchy and sustained synths. elements and effects are combined throughout, mesmerising you with a glimpse into the wonky world of the frits. closing it out wentink leaves you with a quirky club stomper, coupling a gritty bassline, saturated loops and off kilter, lo-fi stabs all tied together with a driving kick. across this 3-part series frits has left the fancy titles at the door, letting the music do the talking and demonstrating his penchant for making interesting, engaging and distinctive house music, not your average two bar house music and chord stuff.

in 1989, an italo-house act sueño latino released a self titled track, which went on to become one of the most revered electronic music records of all time. louis botella is now set to release a sensational remake on emerald city this september. the track itself samples part of manuel göttsching’s influential e2-e4, an album known for its role in the development of house and techno. fast forward to 2018 and the record is again set to be revived thanks to louis botella, and with the blessing and support of göttsching and expanded music. on his interpretation of the track, louis has stayed true to the original, replaying each part and adding an extra dimension to the tracks through a sparkling piano topline, a new vocal hook and dreamy arpeggiations. louis’ passion for the art of djing was sparked from a young age. at sixteen he got his first gig at a club in luxemburg and released his first record in 1998. since then, he’s released on respected labels such as classic music company, ovum records and poker flat recordings.

japanese newcomer -jtt- unveils their debut vinyl on their own label yu-zen-. jtt consists of two guys, takayuki hosoda and dj java. most of their tracks are deep and micro house and nudisco music. -tone river- is one of the typical masterpieces of their tracks. it has a tense and dreamy atmosphere. it s a very simple but enough to be addicted one. -lotus root- has a mystical atmosphere. your brain can feel good unique sound effect sense. you will be into it. mastering by kuniyuki takahashi. according to his careful work these tracks have a high level of completeness.

after making a promising start with their first installment, disco pocho return with a second round of expertly selected, sliced and segued groovers from the parties of yesteryear. javi frias is the cat on the buttons this time around, taking two loose and limber disco funk burners and giving them just the right subtle touch to set the place alight. its a shame has an easy tempo, but there s more than enough heat embedded in the looped up slices frias gets busy with it s a dense, rugged and rock-tinged sound that should please brass construction fans. on the flip, you got what i need turns things up with a powerful, diva-led gem that s heavy on the one, just like it should be.

magic wand is a label you can count on to deliver the disco edits and original productions you never knew you needed, calling on a strong cast of remixers and editors with the knowledge they offer up truly fresh propositions for your party delectation. jc salinas has been previously clocked on is it balearic? and now steps up with a summery slice of island boogie from an undisclosed geographical location. salso picantes gotham- is a motorik beast of a track with plenty of 80s stylings and funk where it counts, while 1-800 coolguy gets into teaser and rewards the faithful listener with a huge sound and splashed with colour and hair spray. the rare cuts edit of think like a lover closes this excellent slab of wax out with a smooth, seductive roller for those more tender moments.

we introduce comfort zone, a young producer from montreal, who has been making music for around 7 years now. he is inspired by “music from late 90s/early 00s video game soundtracks and the occasional snippets of electronic music i heard as a kid”. we find that statement very much reflected in this release, as he masters the challenge of blending mysterious samples and different styles to form harmonious compositions. on one side of the 4-track ep we have 2 groovy house tracks, reminiscent of early 2000s house by the likes of lance desardi, ian pooley and atjazz, on the other side 2 classic jungle tracks which uphold our tradition of releasing timeless music.

ellen allien prepares to release her first ever solo ep outside of her bpitch control imprint and has chosen a label she avidly admires, boddika s nonplus. as a dj, producer, bpitch control label founder and organiser of the regular we are not alone parties in the city and elsewhere, ellen allien was not only there when the techno sound of berlin was moulded in the basements of squats all over the capital but continues to be a tireless advocate of all aspects of this culture more than ever, as indicated also by her international vinylism event series. take a stand , her debut release for boddika s nonplus records, is as much informed by all those experiences as it is by the relentless hope and passion that have driven ellen allien ever since she stepped up to the decks of the infamous fischlabor in the early 90s. take a stand is a three-part statement about (and for) the here and now...

brendon moeller offers up his set in motion ep on echocord sub-label echo echo this september, comprising three originals from the dub techno veteran. south africa, new york based producer and dj brendon moeller aka beat pharmacy/echologist has long been respected as one of the pioneering figures in ethereal, dubbed-out techno with regular appearances at global hot spots like fabric, berghain and cielo as well as releases on labels like third ear, kimochi, neovinyl and echocord. here though we see moeller joining the roster of the latter’s sublabel echo echo, marking its fourth release. title-track set in motion leads with brendons signature murky synth textures at its core whilst lumpy low-end tones, shuffled hats and spiraling dub echoes fluidly undulate amongst one another throughout. eastern beach follows, and as the name would suggest, nods towards brighter sounds with airy pads, soft bell chime synths and pulsating subs driving the composition alongside swinging, heavily reverberated percussion. economy then closes the package, stripping things back to gritty dub stabs, dusty 4/4 drums and billowing noise sweeps.

afterlife recordings continues its focus on emerging talent with the first solo ep of aether, following his collaboration with mind against on -solaris- and a track on the realm of consciousness compilation. from the textured atmospherics, harmonies and innovative sound design, it’s clear aether has found his voice already. balanced between the powerful, emotive techno afterlife is known for and more introspective experimentation, the three tracks share a tonal richness and patient headspace, lending themselves to the dreamy hours on the dancefloor.

external assessment vs. self-conception by robag wruhme: people always think, im that serene and quiet guy, but actually i’m quite a noisemaker. could be that the majority of the material he put out in recent years, most notably the thora vukk album, led to the overall apprehension of robag being the virtuoso of everything subtle, enigmatic and tenderly melodic. well, thats far from being a misconception, but still just one side of the coin. the other side is embossed with his most current productions, consolidated to a double ep, captioned with the enchanting name wuzzelbud ff. wait a second wuzzelbud devoted fans will instantly prick up their ears. we’ve heard that before. back in 2004 robag wruhme released his first longplayer named wuzzelbud kk. as theres no such scenario robag might be running out of stream-of-consciousness turned nonsense titles for his music, this must be a vocabulary intersection linking the early days of his career with its status quo. and it is. wruhme presents wuzzelbud ff as the stylistic follow-up to his debut album, showcasing a sound he commits has been neglected for too long. wruhme cuts to the chase: i wanted to put out some straightforward music for the dancefloor, something for the primetime. well, for the primetime of my sets, at least.

from the on_ series where unconventional, hard edged, experimental and archival club cuts get s re-presented, remixed and highlighted. laton outs russian newcomer ectro usic with a slamming, gritty & heavy duty electro/techno full side. flip carries dj sotofett s broken but strobicly steady club mix of – austrian inventor & synth specialist – a.burger s -device c- which in original suit has been released by craft records (1996) and laton (1999). a proper zone out.

highly revered techno dj/producer ilario alicante has unveiled his brand new luce ep, consisting of four fresh tracks on cocoon recordings. recognised as a dj of the highest order whilst playing at berghain when he was still only 21, ilario continues to go from strength to strength. an integral member of the respected cocoon family, ilario alicante has become a regular at cocoon ibiza, elrow and dc10 during his career so far. made up of the titled track luce, a cosmic production packed with synth-laced flutters, and the more dancefloor-ready scelta ilario showcases his eclectic nature across the release. using a high tempo through the shudders of cocoon, the italian rounds off the ep with the deeply atmospheric sensa with the latters rattles adding an intense nature to the production.

one of stephan and marc s biggest tunes ever, kerberos comes along with brand new remixes. diynamic s solomun teams up for the first time with johannes brecht and their debut convinces with driving beats, fresh sounds and a composition of synth lines which won t leave your brain anymore. on the flip side you can find two versions by andré hommen, who has been responsible for countless club weapons on labels like objektivity, poker flat and these eyes plus dublin s poster boy matador who recently delivered a master piece with his legendary remix of oxia s „domino“.

when looking for music to be released on magazine, our guideline has always been energy. the key question remains the same: does the artist have something important to say? does it have a sense of urgency? alex played us these tracks while visiting the magazine studio in cologne earlier this year and we were consumed by unadulterated rage. this is anything but a conceptual release, alex has not released this kind of music before. a side of alex manifests itself through these techno tracks, that most might not have known before. brutal yet beautiful, furious yet fragile. a berlin native who shaped his sense for techno by striving through his hometown and its infamous raves, alex is now one of the prominent protagonists of that scene – not only when regularly playing at berghain. the ep harnesses this experience perfectly, fully preserving the energy of the creation process by recording directly to tape. most productions may have suffered from this primitive method of locking sound into position, but not these tracks from a techno master.

as connected arrives at its 3rd year of existence the team decided to make a selection of tunes through this time as a recap and as an opportunity to also turn some of the tunes into remixes.&#8232, the remixes , including olaf stuut , tim engelhardt , stefano ritteri , reboot and moscoman will be released on vinyl alongside a brand new track from label heads stereo mc’s and the first appearance on vinyl of classic connected release ‘lust’ by tigerskin k.e.e.n.e and elli (david mayer remix). the label has been building steam over the last few years with increasing vigour and the remix release follows the label ethic with a diverse and underground feel to it plus some strong club action. included in the past releases is david mayer, re.you, nandu, florian busse,aaaron, floyd lavine, pongo amongst others...

a new adepth audio record featuring canadian rennie foster, including a remix of nomadico (dj dex/underground resistance). the title track witch hazel is a 9 minute long track with no breakdown and a minimal approach to arrangement, with organic elements cycling in and out subtly rather than obviously beginning and ending. a rolling half time, tribal groove drives the power of the track with a haunting vocal sample and layers of percussion creating a heady, polyrhythmic hypnosis on the dance floor. not since rennie s well known devil s water has he presented such an overtly occult offering as this extremely finely crafted ep, and this song represents the initial seduction of the record to the listener very effectively. the second track, navigator, is a drum machine driven workout, again with a polyrhythmic and tribal vibe, this time drenched in a rich, holographic pad that morphs and moves in unexpected ways. minimalistic in presentation, this track is bass heavy and functional for the dj, yet artistic and emotional. the nomadico remix by dj dex of underground resistance takes the elements of witch hazel and re-constructs them in a futuristic style with a more driving kick and molten detroit attitude. a heavier techno approach to the piece, but still intact is the melancholic atmosphere of the original and siren song of the vocal sample. this mix includes a dramatic breakdown and unique arrangement familiar to fans of nomadico s awesome yaxteq label. the last track on the ep is called crossing the boundary is possibly the only track in this style to sample distorted vocals usually associated with black metal, making this a very unique, perhaps polarizing, experiment in sound. evocative of the desolation of deep space and suggestive of sonic dark matter. this track combines rennie s singular approach to dub techno with ambient and drone music and the result is like nothing else currently in existence.

sugardaddy are a uk electronic music duo formed in 2006 and is the musical brainchild of tom findlay (one half of groove armada) and singer song writer tim hutton (hybrid, groove armada, way out west) “hypnotise- has an altogether late 80 s heavy, low slung, boogie vibe, caressed with beautifully haunting yet soulful vocals. greg wilson remixes an extended rework, holding the vibe of the original and effortlessly extending certain aspects of the groove, creating a 9 minute dancefloor monster! situation are next up with a late night, deep house dub interpretation which builds to a discoesque guitar licked, infectious, yet hypnotic bombshell bittersuite finish the release with a chunky funk fuelled version, full of slap bass and a bucketful of soaring, atmospheric synths, cleverly weaving those wonderful vocals and building to an electro jazz funk masterpiece.

when it comes to gritty sample-based house the guy white label series has really been going from strength to strength. for the third in their unrelenting streak dj counselling steps up to offer up a therapy session like no other. sit back, relax and put your mind at ease and you ll soon be taken on a reflective journey for the soul. on one side you have curt s jam an introspective and emotive piano laden, lo-fi house track complete with choice vocal snippets set to sooth those pains. flip it and theres a more bumping groove to the therapy session, qualified by a pensive dialogue that makes way for an oscillating synth jam backed with a killer tom pattern.

new yorks avision makes his debut on ben sims hardgroove imprint with culture, an ep comprising four memorable and kinetic techno cuts and including an edit from sims himself. having previously cropped up on mark brooms beard man imprint, avision (real name anthony cardinale) has a knack for turning in gritty grooves that draw on earthy, discoid constructs and thats exactly what we have here with culture. from the eponymous opener throughout, staccato stabs characterise and propel the tracks in different ways whether via rolling, almost-there disco loops, gleefully abrasive call and response rhythms or, in the case of sims edit of jux, nifty vocal sample interplay. true to hardgroove form, culture is a release crafted for the dancefloor and delivers with exacting precision.

mirror box is the solo analog synth project of dallas musician sean kirkpatrick. with an extensive resume that includes keyboard duties for kill rock stars 00s noise rock band the paper chase as well as his concurrent projects, dark post-punk-synth-rockers nervous curtains and darkwave duo little beards, mirror box is kirkpatricks first foray into the purely electronic realm. blending together elements of giallo moodiness, dub texture, techno propulsion, a passing nod to your favorite wave music, and a flare for the kosmiche, mirror box debut release, minimal compliance ep, is a tour de force of the veteran musicians exploration of a wide range of influences and experience. released by dallas-based gavin guthrie (tx connect)’s tru (texas recordings underground), the 5-track ep kicks off with the immediately-gripping title track. a huge mid-tempo 808 beat drives the menacing moog bass while cosmic synths explore the skies over gritty, urban terrain. the body, grounded by its stuttering and singular bass line, is an expansive reworking of a track from little beards debut album which features nan kirkpatrick on the release’s only vocal appearance. side a closes with destabilized agent, a retro-futurist dream that effortlessly voyages from sagans cosmos to a melodic minimal wave refrain. while the first sides lush synthesizers and sophisticated syncopation are somewhat of a departure for tru, a label that has so far defined itself by bringing the electronic sounds of texas underground warehouse scene to dance floors across the sea, the flip side of the record is where the four hits the floor. grifter react opens with a hard kick and electro zaps, letting the rhythm take the lead until a distorted bass finally enters to provide the hook. minimal compliance ep finale, critical blitz, weaves together all of mirror box finer elements into a concise mission statement

the french label normandy records proposes for its 3rd ep some promising artists. r.m from switzerland has become known with his label chikyu-u records and its hovering tracks. district 9, the combination of gunnter (boss of the label) and vincent g, already seen on rutilance recordings. julenn, a parisian, got know with his releases on the blind box vision label. finally, sichuan, a young norman artist, offers us here a first deep & mental piece.

for this ep, jófríður Ákadóttir has re-recorded some of the finest songs from her bands and solo-projects (jfdr, samaris, pascal pinon) with new string arrangements. these versions have a simple, inherent beauty that is juxtaposed with their seething, stark intensity.
to replace the original arrangements with strings was originally planned as a one-off event: when preparing a pascal pinon performance in portugal, jófríður asked nyc-based composer ian davis to help her re-arrange four tracks. after the show jófríður realized that the material deserved to be captured.

iceland’s volruptus returns to bjarkis bbbbbb with five esoteric cuts titled alien agenda. releasing on bbbbbb at the end of last year, volruptus has emerged swiftly on the european party scene, with the icelandic artist popping up on line-ups all over the continent. following releases by norways eod and fellow icelandic talent, lord pusswhip, alien agenda is bbbbbbs third record of the year continuing bjarkis progressive tastes for innovative electronic scandinavian artists. first up, svi,nasti,a 3000 deploys a synthetic, fast-pitched techno revolver fused with space- induced, twisted modulations. a scratch tool titled itchy and scratchy show follows before launching into su,rmatur a celestial 303 synth line layered over scattered electro drums, together providing a magical transcendental experience. alien agenda is suitably an eccentric, idm tinged number – with shades of acid and powerful bass shrills becoming the focus here. last up, misanthropgy (dark stoff) provides an energetic rolling percussive loop, intensifying naturally through cryptic, high-pitched melodies.

rogue d is the new solo project from danny minchella. under this new moniker he delivers the eagerly awaited chains. set to be one of the biggest tracks of the year, its a high octane, club-ready number with abundant driving percussion. unstoppable force patrick topping is also back on home ground for the remix. chains was inspired by jamie 3:26s and cratebug’s edit of loretta holloway hit n quit - i wanted a simple, raw track, killer bassline and a soulful vocal. the process was very fast and i made the majority of the groove in one morning. i dug deep in my collection, looking for that special vocal and came across steve silk hurleys chain of fools (with aretha franklin on the original vocal), and it just made the record pop! - rogue d as an artist minchella has played some of the worlds most esteemed establishments and released on a wealth of high profile labels. he now aims to use his rogue d guise as a means to express his forward thinking and personal tastes in sound- from techno to old school garage to the sounds of detroit. he’s already released on dftd as well as providing a remix of soul claps misty on classic music company. in his relatively short career so far, label favourite patrick topping has made the cover of mixmag, won a coveted dj mag best of british award and made the resident advisor top 100 djs. hes released some of the biggest tracks on hot creations and is resident for jamie jones paradise at dc10. on his rework of chains, topping isolates the vocal and adds a tribal bounce to proceedings.

harlems legendary disco label queen constance has long been a cult favourite among fans of underground dance music for decades. one of many labels operating under the equally legendary p&p family of imprints land of hits was operated by one peter brown, a truly colossal figure in nycs music scene, its catalogue still fascinates music lovers to this day. covering a wide range of styles including gospel, early rap and disco the label s output continually finds it way into the playlists of respected dj s and selectors across the globe. mistafide s colossal old-school rap behemoth equidity funk has long been a record that makes the serious collectors salivate and is now here in full 12inch form repress, too legit to quit. not much is known about the crew behind mistafide , their government names are listed online but this is the only record they put out using this name. suffice to say, this has no impact on the fury and style with which the mc s deliver their raps, backed with the studio nous of impresario peter brown. across 12 minutes equdity funk is a slamming disco-rap monster, interpolating elements of the evergreen b-boy jam theme from swat it sounds like everyone just got into the studio and went for it. in the style of the times this is the real hip-hop flavour, a live band, some mc s and some death defying bars being dropped, proper old school. a truly rare recording, equidity funk has been one of those records fans of the disco-rap era have been fiending for for decades - often commanding prices over the $1000 mark you can now grab this slice of essential nyc street funk.

seth troxlers club focussed label, play it say it, welcomes a master of stripped back and dubbed out tech grooves in the form of seb zito, while fuse boss enzo siragusa steps up to remix. a core part of the world-renowned fuse party crew, zitos distilled productions are perfectly functional, boasting the sorts of subtle charms that make them truly irresistible to legions of dancers. his warm sound has landed on the fuse and infuse labels as well as rawax and kaoz theory. he runs his own seven dials label and is as revered for his resident sets in london and ibiza as he is his studio sounds. the excellent on it opens things up with tightly coiled drums, adorned with bumping kicks that immediately get you moving. a soul infused vocal brings plenty of cool to the track whilst dreamy pads add warmth and depth. a dub is also included in the package for those darker, late night sets. both versions are sure to become club mainstays. remixing is enzo siragusa, the man behind the internationally renowned fuse brand and a driving force in the contemporary house and techno scene. he djs around the world, hosts parties across europe and is known for digging deep. his version is more zoned out thanks to the swirling pads, with the orignals vocal coming at you in a dreamlike fashion, as the knotted bass hammers home the groove. this is an essential release that is sure to go on to big things this summer.

matt edwards and multifaceted artist patrick mason team up as srvd with debut release entitled elevate dropping on rekids this august. whether as radio slave or his various other monikers, matt edwards is one of electronic musics most consistent and innovative artists. ever since his early reinterpretations of kylie minogue and new order, edwards has continually commanded respect as a producer and in-demand remixer, whilst as a label owner his rekids imprint is undoubtedly one of house and techno’s most influential platforms. meanwhile, patrick mason continues to conquer the fashion world, a devout club kid and gifted creative turning heads as an outstanding art director, illustrator and model, whose extensive artistic talents include a unique and compelling voice destined for dancefloors. srvds story begins when the pair met in panorama bar, which soon led to edwards and mason hanging out at the studio and later evolved into improvised performances in berlins club scene and beyond. elevate perfectly captures the raw spirit and vibe of their live show, with whispering vocals ushering in precision kicks and piercing stabs until masons mesmerising voice comes fully into play. an homage to the new york vogue scene and a huge hit at panorama bar - where the pair have set the house on fire with three unannounced shows so far this year nasty is a syncopated, bass-driven monster of a cut complete with infectious claps and metallic effects.

you may remember the closing of space, ibiza with carl cox when he played a bootleg of total confusion. barry obzee hobbs (rising high a&r) spent a lot of time trying to locate the remixer and finally did a few months ago. we have now signed the remix which will be released on vinyl in may and on digital in july. the story goes like this: carl cox has been playing the version at most of his shows including tomorrow land, kappa future fest and timewarp ( see video clip below) but this is where the story becomes more interesting. the remixer, rod malmok from rotterdam aka benny rodriguez, who is a very established dj producer playing for loco dice in ibiza etc and releasing on ben klock s imprint klockwork, chris liebings imprint clr, adam beyers imprint drumcode and many more was inspired to remix the track through a conversation with dubfire, rod gave him a rough copy the following day. he played it to carl cox at space, ibiza and cox begged him for a copy - see video below if you ve been around the scene for a while you will know that rising high records was one of the first labels to shape techno, hardcore and breakbeat in the uk and was huge!

tachyon audio is a vinyl label that’s focused on sounds in the techno realm targeting sweaty, dark dance floors, with large, high-quality sound systems. inhabitants come back strong in mutations volume ii, tachyon audio’s second offering. these two primates are often found inhabiting dark spaces, forging ahead on complex math equations. their distinct, driving, mathematical, and drumming techno is a result. expect more solid work and performances from these two mysterious beings on tachyon audio as the label continues its progression. tachyon audio’s second release follows a similar format to the first, in that, tac002 is a diverse ep that touches on techno sounds that are helping to lead the march forward into the future of sound production and style. the second tachyon audio release also comes from the mysterious dark studio of inhabitants, who build off their first, and display their precise, technical forms of production. the a-side track, mut11 (a1) is a sci-fi exploration that pleases the ear with thick sub and low basses, along with a pitch-twisted melodic element, and the inhabitants distinct sound effects and automation. the track has a strong impact immediately, as you can feel the intensity of elements being added, manipulated, and combined, and a sturdy, grimy feel pervades the piece with an interesting driving rhythmic percussion.

reinier zonneveld s filth on acid label comes ready with a first ever album only 18 months after launching. in that time it has released music from big names like carl cox, gabriel ananda, bart skils, pig&dan, emmanuel top, coyu and many more, and this standout full length comes from mees salomé. it explores melodic and immersive techno, is entitled big thoughts like elephants and has 12 tracks that really journey into many different moods and grooves and the whole thing plays out with a real sense of musicianship that leaves an indelible mark.

since so many european labels have been reissuing lost and obscure 1980s japanese ambient albums of late, it was probably inevitable that at least one label would put together a compilation paying tribute to the sound. it turns out that jazzy couscous has won the race with kumo no moko, a superb double album that does a terrific job in putting japan s 80s ambient scene in context. as you d expect, the majority of the tracks feature either dreamy electronic sounds or a mixture of acoustic and electronic instrumentation, with nods to jazz coming thick and fast. there are naturally a couple of fairly well-known names on show, but for the most part the compilers have done a terrific job in highlight lesser-known tracks from unsung heroes.

francis harris exceptional run of releases for his own labels scissors & thread and kingdoms now extends to this perfectly formed ep for hafendisko, which sees him rework some of hfn musics finest moments of the last two years. harris, the brooklynite whose feel for subtlety and space seems to infuse all his work, takes on three of the hamburg labels cannon - kicked off with kasper bjorkes cloud 9, featuring urdur. here harris deconstructs the original and reforms it into a some quite removed from its origins - shuffling drum machines bring about a kraftwerkesque feel, before beautiful tones and atmospheres reveal themselves. the track seems to develop along two paths simultaneously, somehow creating a truly affecting piece of leftfield electronica. null + voids huge dave gahan-featuring-track where i wait has been heavily remixed over the past months, but also gets the harris treatment. completely flipped form the original, this is a haunting remix with tough and funky underbelly, utilizing gahans vocals only sparingly. danish alt-pop trio ticktock have their single hatefuck refixed also, and harris zones in on the glitchy vibe and adds layers of claustrophobic depth to the production.
